Ladies and gentlemen, today I would like to share with you the happiness and feelings I have had since initiation and knowing Master.

Since I've known Master Ching Hai and received initiation, my heart has been filled with joy every day. It's the truth, not a falsehood. I don't cheat people. On a rainy night last year, I chanced to pick up a sample booklet on the road which contained Master's lectures given in different places in Formosa (Taiwan).

It's the same thin book that's given to you for free just now.
I took this book to my office and read about four or five pages. Master mentioned Jesus Christ's teachings in the book.

Why did she talk about Jesus Christ in addition to Shakyamuni Buddha's teaching? Master also mentioned the Quan Yin Method;

I didn't know what the Quan Yin Method was and because of that, I didn't understand at all the meaning Master tried to convey in the book. So the book stayed in my drawer in the office for a long time, until Nov. 17-18 when Master gave a lecture in Zhong Shan Hall in Taipei. I saw Master's poster and the time of the lecture printed in the Central Daily.

I was so happy and decided to attend the lecture.

At that time, I thought as long as I arrived by 7:30pm, I should be able get in. Surprisingly, on the first day when I reached lecture hall, it was so packed that I can't describe it. So I was actually late arriving at 7:30. The front door was already closed so I stood outside. Although there was a screen set up outside for us to see the video,

I was hoping to see Master in person. Then the front door was opened again for some reason and more people were allowed to go in. So I was very lucky to get in and listen to the lecture happily.

Before initiation, I thought keeping a lifelong vegetarian diet must be difficult. At that time, I innocently asked the staff working at the initiation desk, 『Can you get used to the pure vegetarian diet? Do you have any problem?』

They also innocently replied, 『No problem at all! Everything is okay once you follow Master.』

I asked myself, 『Why can't I do it if other people can?』 Therefore, I made up my mind to register for initiation. Since Master imparted the Dharma (true teaching) to me, I gradually understood Master's words in the book:

we can see the Light and hear the Sound just like the ancient spiritual practitioners did.
It's really incredible and subtle. Since then, I have had real spiritual experiences. Previously I had a schoolmate who followed a master of the Esoteric Sect.

They call the masters in that tradition 『guru.』 His master asked him to write the 『Prajnaparamita』 (perfection of wisdom) part of the Heart Sutra many times. The Heart Sutra starts with: 『When Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva achieved the profound state of Prajnaparamita (perfection of wisdom), he realized that all the five substances were empty." I won't mention the rest.

So I wrote it with him and even brought a sheet to my office. Whenever I had time, I would read it and put it Back, because the master said that after writing and reading it many times, one will understand its meaning. But my brain remained empty each time I read it, not understanding anything.

Now, strangely, I understand completely ever since Master imparted the Dharma (true teaching) to me. Although I don't understand all the words written by the ancient people, I can understand the inner visions about which they wrote I also understand why Master said that one cannot attain liberation by reading scriptures; the scriptures were written by the ancient spiritual practitioners to record their inner visions.

Also, after initiation, when I read the lectures in Master's books, I found them very interesting and I felt energized.

Master's lectures are very humorous. Whenever I came across a humorous section, I would smile and my heart would open up. Each time my colleague saw me suddenly smile he would ask me curiously, 『What are you reading?』 I would reply that I was reading Supreme Master Ching Hai's book.

He would walk over and say to me, 『It's strange. I see you read books every day, yet you are not sleepy, but whenever I start to read a book at my desk, I keep falling asleep. And I see you are always energetic.』

Truly, without receiving initiation from Master, without practicing the Quan Yin Method, one would not understand the inner happiness and freedom we have. I was quite timid before. I was scared of ghosts and dead people. Now I am very courageous and don't get easily frightened like before.

Normally, people act very brave until the moment of death. Some might say that death is nothing to be scared of. It's true that everyone will die and it's nothing to be afraid of. It's useless to be afraid anyway because if there is birth then there must be death.

Some might say that after death he will no longer exist, not even his soul. If it were true that there is no karma (retribution), we could rob a bank and live comfortably, if we were poor in this world. Wouldn't it be great? But that's wrong. It's dangerous to have such thinking.

Master said before that the law of cause and effect is very strict. If there is a cause, there must be a consequence. No one can escape the judgment of the karmic law. Now, I am not afraid of any cause and effect, because I have the Quan Yin Method as taught by Master.

As long as each of Master's disciples practices meditation diligently every day according to Master's instructions, they will 『reap the benefit from all the efforts put in,』 as the ancient saying goes.

Master said that in each era, there is a Buddha who comes down to save sentient beings. I didn't understand this sentence before initiation, now I do. I've found a truly powerful Master today who can take us home through a path which will take us out of the cycle of transmigration. Master said that if Shakyamuni Buddha could achieve Buddhahood in one lifetime, why can't we?

Ladies and gentlemen, we should have faith and we will have power. Now I have an enlightened Master who is guiding me on this path to go Home. You can understand why I am so happy every day! Thank you, everyone.

Let's extend a warm applause to welcome Supreme Master Ching Hai for this lecture.

@ Thank you, brother. Thank you,
everyone. How did you sleep last night? Did you sleep well? (Yes.) Did you have a vegetarian breakfast today? (Yes.) Good. What about lunch? (Yes.)

How about dinner? (Yes.) Don't think that Buddha has gone to sleep so it doesn't matter. It's a small test for you to see if you can keep the vegetarian diet for one day. But I've heard that many people in Chungli are vegetarians; they have more vegetarians here than any other place.

If you think that you believe in Yi Quan Tao and you don't have to be a vegetarian, because the living Buddha Jigong ate meat, you must be kidding. Yi Quan Tao explains Heaven and hell very clearly. The living Buddha Jigong didn't eat meat; he was scared just hearing about it. In his biography, it said he didn't eat meat.

How can you misunderstand him so much? You even put meat into the mouth of Shakyamuni Buddha, claiming that he ate pig's feet. It's frightening to see how fast sentient beings can make up stories and how rich their imagination is.

I have explained clearly that we should live a happy life in this world,

We are the same. We work so hard for this world, then we are punished because of the work. If we work so hard to make money in this world but we don't do a little charity with the money, or do some good deeds, when we go down to hell we will be beaten up by the king of hell. We can't get away from the evil cycle. It's similar to the person who was given some money to take the beating.

He didn't get the money and was beaten 30 times. Similarly,we are fooled. We are fooled so badly by this world, Yet we continue to live happily and even say 『thank you.』 Every day, we work eight hours or six hours, sometimes ten hours or more than ten hours, to have a little food. Some rich people don't have to work so hard, but their energy is used up managing the factory, which is also very tiring.

They don't just sit there and take money. It's not that easy. They have to take care of the workers, listen to their complaints, look after the factory, and make plans; otherwise, they might lose money. So they have mental stress. We work so much, but how much do we eat every day?

At most, a few bowls of rice, two or three chicken legs and a piece of steak. That's all. This is what the meat eaters eat. The vegetarians eat even less. Their food costs less. We are so stressed, and yet we thank the king of this world… No,not the king of the world but maya. The king of a country is different from the king of the world.

We thank him for giving us work and thank him for giving us the chance to do charity. We use the money to buy security and blessing. If we don't,we will be beaten to death. We pay with the money earned by hard work and we have to say 『thank you,』 and we have to give it away. Yet there is no guarantee that we will be safe.

There is no guarantee that the king of hell will let you go if you give some charity. Not necessarily. He will deduct a lot of tax. Understand? He will say, 『Yes,you did charity, but you looked at another person's wife once,so you have incurred a certain bad karma (retribution). Also you ate too much, and you were not diligent in your work,』 or,『You didn't treat your children fairly, or you were bad to your neighbors,』 etc.,etc.

He will list all kind of sins we committed, so we can't escape. It's a truly pitiful situation when we are dropped into this world. We are prisoners; no matter what we do, we are still in prison. It's similar to a prisoner confined in a prison. Regardless of the merit he has earned, he is still in prison. No matter how good he is, how much work he has done for the prison, he is still a prisoner.

Understand? He is just a better prisoner who has contributed a lot and is more virtuous. A long time ago, there was a sheep who ran to a stream to drink water. When he was about to drink, a lion came and said to him, 『Hey,this is my water. If you drink it,I will have an excuse to eat you because you have no money to pay me.』

The sheep said, 『Oh,good! I have not drunk any. Look at my mouth,it's dry. I didn't drink any. I just arrived. Okay,I am leaving now.』 The lion said, 『No,you can't. Even if you didn't drink, your father must have drunk it, or your grandpa;

your ancestors must have drunk it, so you should pay for it,』 and with that, he ate the sheep. It's similar to our situation in this world. Even if we didn't do anything wrong, we are contaminated by the sins of our ancestors. What are our ancestors' sins? It could be something we did in our previous lives. Understand? In Buddhism, we don't call them 『the sins of our ancestors』 but 『past bad karma (retribution).』 It's almost the same.

It just sounds a little better. It means that they are not something given by others but the sins we committed in our past lives. It's the same. So we truly have to get out of the suffering. Otherwise,we can't get out for billions of eons. That's why seeing our pitiful state, the so-called living Buddhas, saints,or high level beings sometimes come down to remind us, 『Hey,there is a way that only I know,』 because it's a secret. If it weren't a secret, then everyone could leave and maya wouldn't like it.

Maya would like to capture his prisoners and never allow them to leave. So not everyone knows this path, except those who have been on it once before. Those who have been there are the ones who have been liberated from birth and death and who have gone beyond the control of maya.

Since they have been there, they know the way; otherwise, they wouldn't know. Once they go there, they look back and feel sympathy for other people and think, 『Before we left, we also suffered like that.』 So they can not help but come down again to pull people out. 『Over here, please come here quickly!』

They grab as many people as they can, 『Come quickly!』 Those who listen to them will follow the same path to liberation and go up easily. It's because they know the way, they can't get lost. Those who don't listen will,of course, stay in this world and suffer life after life. We don't have to wait billions of eons to be liberated.

Of course we can wait, because everyone will naturally be liberated. When the time comes, no one will be left behind, but we have to wait for our turn. //If we don't find an enlightened Master and don't practice diligently, when the time comes, when it's our turn, we will be liberated naturally.// However,we might be too tired after waiting for so long. So if there is someone who promises us liberation, why not go with him?

There is another story from Russia.

A long time ago in Russia, there was a king named Tsar Peter. He disguised himself as a commoner and went to Spain, because he wanted to learn how the Spanish people built ships. He wanted to build ships for his own country. After he went there, he studied hard every day. Over there,he met a few fellow countrymen who he had exiled. Perhaps they had wanted to assassinate the king or disobey him or something.

So they were exiled and couldn't go back. He ate with them, slept with them and got to know them. Thus,he came to know that they missed their homeland, their families, wives and children. At that time, although he was a king, he was also far away from home,so he himself also missed his homeland. That's why he had sympathy for those people. So he said,『My friends, please don't worry.

Soon, I will take you home.』 They asked him,『How can you take us home? The king has exiled us and we can never go home again. How can we now?』 Peter the Tsar said, 『Oh,no problem! I know a high official in the royal court and he is very influential because he is the king's councilor. He has never refused any of my requests before; the king will listen to him. So don't worry about going home with me.

The king sent me here to learn something . When I go home with what I have learned here, he will listen to me.』 Some people believed him, but others didn't. Those who believed him said,『He looks reliable and kind. He seems like a gentleman. He asks for nothing for himself. Whatever he does, he doesn't ask for money, nor does he ask for favors.

Perhaps it's because he himself misses his home and he has the power to save his fellow countrymen. It won't do any harm if we go with him. We are criminals already, what else can happen to us? The worst thing that could happen is we will be sent back to Spain. We can't be sentenced to anything more serious than that.』

So they went back with him. At the border, they saw a lot of their countrymen on the road waving flags to welcome him. The criminals said, 『Wow! This person must be really powerful.』

So they continued following him. Wherever they went, people welcomed them waving their flags. The closer they got to the capital, the warmer the reception became, and the more people there were welcoming them.

When they reached the capital, they saw Peter the Tsar ascend to the throne and sit down, and all the officials bowing to him and congratulating him. All his beautiful wives came out to greet him. Then they knew he was the king. As they got closer to the capital, they thought he must be a high official, 『Yes,he has to be a high official.』

When he went up to the throne, they realized he was their king. Their own king! Then they knew he had the power. Similarly,if Buddha comes to this world, and if he is different from us, then we wouldn't believe him. He won't be able to sympathize with our pain.

We have to remember this: he has to come down to suffer in order to remember. Since he has not suffered for a long time, he forgets what suffering is. In the Western Paradise, there is no such term as suffering, so how can one experience it there? Thus,he has no idea what suffering is, so he has to suffer like us.

He has to learn about happiness, anger, sadness and everything else before he gets enlightened. Then after he becomes enlightened, he won't run away from the human emotions. Otherwise,he will forget. He will enjoy Nirvana (the highest paradise) every day and forget about the suffering of sentient beings; he won't understand their longing hearts and he won't understand their inner feelings. Okay,I will let you ask questions. I had so much to say, but I don't remember it now.

The point is, I have a jewel which is more precious than life. Like what I'd said yesterday,if you want to have a share of it,I will give it to you for free.

Master, why in my dreams every night do I see myself in many places that I have never been to before and see many of my relatives look different from their usual selves? Can you please explain why they look different from before?

@ It's like this:

you went to the astral world. That's why they looked a little different. It's because they don't have physical bodies there. Most people go to the so-called Heaven after they die. If they have been good, they go to Heaven; hell is for evil people. So you went to see your old relatives and friends. When we sleep, our soul will wander around, but it can't go too high. That's only the first world, the astral world. That's why you see them. If you practice //the Quan Yin Method, you will go beyond that world// and take your relatives and friends up.

Master, how can I tell if I have affinity or not?

@ If you have affinity, then you have it; if you don't, then you don't.

Master, when a person reaches the third world, will he fall again?

@ No. When one reaches the third world, he will become a non-regressing Bodhisattva.

Master,it's said that the more knowledge one has, the more obstacles one has, and it will affect one's spiritual level. But many Masters' disciples are highly educated people with doctorates or master degrees. Do they have obstacles in their spiritual practice? Can a person have both a high academic degree and a pure clear heart like you do

@I see everyone is a Buddha. That's right. There are ignorant Buddhas as well as learned Buddhas. It's not necessarily that we will obstruct ourselves if we have knowledge. If we are not arrogant about our knowledge, or if we are not attached to it or if we don't think we are great, then our sincerity for the Tao (the great wisdom) will not be contaminated and our spiritual practice will not be obstructed.

I have many disciples who are very learned, who are physicians, doctors, lawyers, technicians, engineers, etc.,but they practice very well and progress very fast. So,it depends.

Master, can you explain the difference between the Quan Yin Method and other meditation methods, such as Zen meditation in Buddhism, transcendental meditation, or Taoist meditation?

@ The method practiced by true spiritual practitioners since ancient times is no different from the Quan Yin Method. But because there were few such spiritual practitioners in ancient times, there were fewer people who taught this method and there were even less who taught it in public. Therefore, everyone invented another method of their own.

Then they also made progress and had inner visions, but the levels were different. For example, the so-called Zen practice today solves Zen puzzles, koans, such as: 『Who are you?』; 『What is `nothing'?』; 『Who is repeating the name of Buddha?』; 『Why did Bodhidharma come to China?』 etc., or repeating numbers from one to ten.

That's the so-called Zen practice. One will have inner visions practicing this as well. Some people might see Light and hear the Sound naturally. At that time, we can say that he received some of the benefits of the Quan Yin Method, even though he didn't practice it. The formal Quan Yin Method has to be transmitted by a master, understand?

And the real Dharma lineage is very clear. By practicing so-called Zen or Taoism, or a yoga method, one will also see Light, have visions and hear some Sounds. If the teachers of these methods have the experiences of Light and Sound or inner visions, then their disciples will also have them.

We spiritual practitioners have to do what's right. As far as I know, their levels are lower. The Sounds they hear do not belong to the higher levels, the Light they see does not belong to the higher levels, and their visions do not belong to the higher levels either. It's from what I know. There might be some that are high level whom I don't know about.

I am studying in college. I often buy food from vegetarian restaurants to eat, but I don't know if there is any alcohol or eggs in the vegetables from those restaurants. My mom said that I should keep the precepts strictly. Also, during the examination periods, I am afraid that I won't have enough time to meditate due to the academic pressure. Can I still receive initiation?

@ Yes. You should try to be careful. If you break the precepts unintentionally, it's not your fault. We just try our best to keep them. Students should also meditate. The transcendental method teaches people to meditate for only 20 minutes at a time and they have obvious benefits. Many college students are learning meditation nowadays, so we should do it. It's helpful for everything, in this world and in the world beyond.

Master, someone said that I should wait until I'm 32 to practice spiritually because my affinity to this world is not finished. I am 24 right now. Should I receive initiation from you? If I do, will my worldly affinity still exist? If I don't, what should I do? Will I have the chance in the future to learn the Quan Yin Method, the highest method to achieve liberation?

@ You don't know if you will live tomorrow, let alone until you are 30. Life is ephemeral. As I'd mentioned yesterday, although there is fate, still some people die in spite of it.
The world is so ephemeral. Don't wait until tomorrow.
You should have received initiation yesterday.

Master, I am a householder. How can I practice to reach the highest realm?

@Why can't you? //Practice the Quan Yin Method and you will reach the highest realm, whether you are a householder or a renunciate.// It's the same.

He said,『Each time my daughter is sick, I pray to Quan Yin Bodhisattva for her blessing, but the result is not good. What is the best way to pray to Buddha?

@ You are ruining the reputation of Quan Yin Bodhisattva. It's not that she does not respond to you, it's just that our level is too low. Our sincerity doesn't break through the karmic walls of this world to reach the ears of Quan Yin Bodhisattva. If you want to reach her ears, you have to have a telephone line to call her from here. 『Hallo, Quan Yin Bodhisattva, my child is sick.』 At that time she will respond. Why? It's true that you are sincere and your heart is pure, but you don't have direct communication with her.

Your prayer is caught by ghosts and devils Half way there. Then they bless your child incorrectly. Of course the result is worse. We should communicate with Buddha first, then our prayers will reach his place. Otherwise,it's blocked by the devils halfway through. The devils know that we are sincere and they want to take the offerings, so they 『bless』 us with bad things and,of course, the result is worse.

Have you seen the disastrous results? That's why I say that we should communicate with Buddha first and then all our prayers will be answered. That's why I offer the Quan Yin Method, Because// by practicing this Quan Yin Method, we communicate with Buddha every day.// The devils can't steal the blessing from our prayers and sincerity. Otherwise, whatever we pray for, only the devils and deities such as the Earth Deity will hear.

Master, human beings have wisdom and souls. Animals have souls as well, but do they have wisdom? Do plants have souls? Do all creatures have souls and wisdom?

@What are 『living beings』?

Similar to microorganisms, the invisible ones.

@ I see. Everything has a soul; however, 『soul』 is not a good word for it. It's a kind of Buddha Nature, a kind of spirit. //It's the same Light that all beings come from.// Some have more and some have less. Buddha has the most universal power, the Light and the spirit. Animals have less and trees have even less.

Humans have five elements. Apart from the soul, and wisdom, we have elements such as metal, wood, water, fire and earth. Animals only have four elements: water, fire, air, and minerals. Animals have one less element than us. Birds have two less elements. They only have air, like the air we breathe, and water and minerals.

The minerals construct their bones and feathers. But insects don't have minerals, they don't have metal nor do they have wood. They only have air and water.

They must have air to have a body and water. They only have two elements. Humans have the most elements, including a soul. When it comes to trees, they only have water, nothing else. That's why eating vegetables doesn't create as much bad karma (retribution) and sin as eating an animal. It's easy to prove. If you kill a person, of course you will have heavy karma (retribution). You might have to pay back with your own life. Right? If you kill a cow, you can pay with money.

If you kill a pig, it costs less money. If you kill an insect, no one will ask you for money. So if you take a few vegetables, it doesn't create much bad karma (retribution). You just need to pay a little money in the market. That's all. Even our law does not punish us for eating it.

Similarly, in the invisible world, the higher the life form we kill, the more sinful we are. This is very scientific. A tree almost has no soul. It only contains water and the life force inside. It does not have a wise soul that's afraid of death and that clings to life. It can only react, without any wisdom. We can call it a chemical reaction.

Master, does each Buddha have a life span? For example, in the Earth Treasure Sutra, it's said that one of the Buddha's Life spans is 60,000 eons. Once the Buddha's time is up, where will he go?

@ It's the story of ancient Buddhas recorded in the sutras. Suppose Shakyamuni Buddha took his disciples to a high level realm and they held an assembly. Many Buddhas attended and some didn't attend. Shakyamuni Buddha said this is so-and-so Buddha, and tha so-and-so Buddha, and his life span is like this. If he lived in the Golden Age, he could live a long time, such as a few eons, a few million years, a few thousand million years.

I have explained about the Golden Age already. Those Buddhas might have taught in those times, so they stayed on Earth or a planet and taught for 60,000 years or 600 years or 6 eons. It's possible. Pengzu lived for 800 years, right?

So these stories are beyond our imagination. If we want to know, we have to practice the Quan Yin Method. Then occasionally, we can visit the higher realm and meet those high level Buddhas. Then, we can listen to those stories ourselves.

At that time, we will understand. I can't use this worldly language to explain everything to you, because these things are from inconceivable and unspeakable realms. They can't be imagined by our ordinary brain, or this computer or machine.

In the movie “The Gods Must be Crazy,” there is a Bushman named Xi from Africa who has never seen a machine. He said, “What kind of animal is it? Why are its feet so round?” When he saw the gun, he took it out and asked, “What kind of tree is it?” Right?

Then when he saw an American beauty, he said, “I have never seen anyone so ugly.” So even though we can read the scriptures, we should be enlightened first. We should go to the high realms first. Even if you haven't reached the high realms, you will understand more than before after listening to my lecture and receiving initiation. Later you can experience the high level realms and meet those Buddhas. You will know things yourself.

I want to clarify one more thing. You can tell when someone is an enlightened master because while she is lecturing, her responses are very fast, and she is very humorous, etc.

Master, can you please stay in Formosa (Taiwan) forever?

@Thank you for your love. Whether I stay or not depends on the will of Buddha. Okay? It's not that I don't want to stay, but I can't stay too long.

Master, does Truth exist in the human heart? Is the Truth sought by all the religions the same?

@  Yes. In the end, it's the same. The Truth is in ourselves. Of course, when we know who we are, when we understand the secrets of the universe, and when we have almighty power to save ourselves and others, at that time we know the Truth. If a person knows the Truth, wherever he stays, that place is a temple and that place has a religion. If there is a religion but no one knows the Truth, it's just an empty temple.

Master, what's the difference between practicing the Zhunti method and the Quan Yin Method? Many people talk about the Zhunti method.

@ To my knowledge, the Zhunti Mantra doesn't teach the Quan Yin Method. But if one practices it diligently, he can also hear the Sound.

Master, can you let me practice the Quan Yin Method for a while before I get initiation so that I won't make you waste your compassion? Is this possible?

@ No. How can you practice the Quan Yin Method before you get initiation? They're the same. Initiation means at that time I'll teach you how to practice the Quan Yin Method. It doesn't mean that after you get initiated, you are bound by me and will be imprisoned in my tent. What for? Initiation means “the Master transmits the method to you” or “transmits the Quan Yin Method to you.”

But this Quan Yin Method isn't transmitted through language. That's why it's called “initiation.” It's transmitted from heart to heart, or from one's wisdom to another's wisdom.

Master, what's the transformation body, reward body, and spiritual body? How can one achieve these three bodies?

@ The spiritual body is the Tao or the Buddha Nature.

It's the heavenly kingdom or God. Understand? It's the Creator. It's eternal. It has never been born, and it Can not be destroyed, it cannot be separated. It's neither good nor bad, neither compassionate nor vicious The transformation body comes from the spiritual body which is never born and cannot be destroyed, and is neither good nor bad, and which is neither born nor enlightened. Since the transformation body comes from the spiritual body, it's also the spiritual body itself. Understand? When sentient beings suffer too much pain and they beg the Creator, then an energy is formed.

Then the Creator will transform Hirmself and go to the place in need. So from where Hes is, Hes sends a beam of light down, and that's the transformation body. This transformation body, or the beam of light, comes from the One who is neither born and can never be destroyed, the One who is extremely bright, the One who has no one above Hirm, the One who has no name, and the One who doesn't move. Then this bright light, this sheet of light or this beam of light, can be called the transformation body. When the transformation body or the light of Tao descends, it will become coarser, understand? It will transmute into a form.

In Heaven it's still light, transparent light, which can't be captured but can be seen. However, it can't be seen with physical eyes. Sometimes, though, physical eyes can also see it. Then, the further it descends, the coarser it becomes, until it transforms into a physical body.

This physical body is exactly the same as the transparent light body in Heaven. But the light body in Heaven is much more beautiful, much more attractive, and more pleasing to the eye than this physical body,

and it has greater power because it's not hindered by this physical body or this useless instrument. So this is what the spiritual body, the transformation body and the physical body are like. And this is what the reward body means. Understand?

A person who has attained the Tao (the great wisdom) is one who can use all three bodies. Those of us who haven't attained the Tao (the great wisdom) only have this reward body, or this physical body. So day and night we suffer sickness, pain, and we feel helpless. We can't help ourselves and we can't take care of ourselves, let alone other people.

The one who has all three bodies, which is the reward body, the transformation body, and the spiritual body, all in one, can do anything.

His physical body is connected with the transformation body, and the transformation body is connected with the great power, the One of no birth and no destruction, the eternal, the greatest universal power. So the three are in one, understand?

Catholics also talk about the Trinity, right? The Buddhists talk about the three-body Buddha. That's what it means. We call those people “enlightened master,” “Buddha,” “Great Bodhisattva,” “Christ,” or “a saint” or “one who has attained the Tao (the great wisdom),” etc.

Master, I have following Yi Quan Tao. Can I still get initiated?

@ Yes. I also teach Yi Quan Tao, don't you know that? > We have the same ideals. Yesterday I said that Yi Quan Tao also teaches people to do good deeds - right? - and to be a moral person, and to fulfill one's duties to the country and to the world. I teach exactly the same thing. I just add the Quan Yin Method, so it's more powerful. What's the difference Yi Quan Tao also emphasizes saving people as its goal, right?

My goal is also to save people. After you start to practice the Quan Yin Method, your goal is also to save people, to do good deeds, to fulfill your duties, to attain the Tao (the great wisdom), and to be reunited with the Supreme Power, whose name could be the Golden Mother Goddess, the Supreme Buddha, or the Supreme God.

I don't care what you call this power, it's all the same. Understand? So if you don't understand this and you keep arguing with one another, you will make the Golden Mother Goddess very sad. She has told me to that effect.

Master, why is it that one will be confined within the three realms if he practices breathing methods?

@  Breathing is not that kind of breathing that counts “one, two, three, four.” The kind of “one, two, three, four” breathing method is not a high method. If you ask any Zen master, he'll tell you the same, so it's not just me who says so. The Zen masters also know that ? this is only a convenient method.

It's also within the three realms. Everyone knows that. So to practice how to control breathing is also within the three realms. It won't work without adding the Quan Yin Method. Why is it so? It's because the method that controls breathing will stir up the energy in the meridians.

This method will purify the meridians and open them up. But the meridians only carry our fiery energy.

The energy in the meridians is a fiery energy, and the fiery energy is there to keep our body warm, keep our temperature, and help with the blood circulation and digestion.

It also takes care of the nerves in the brain. The fiery energy takes care of everything. Without this fiery energy in the body or the energy meridians, we won't be able to survive. So they are very important. But these energy meridians are part of the physical body and they aren't invisible things. For the invisible world, we should use an invisible method.

The Quan Yin Method is not a method. It's not something that can be clearly described in writing. It has to be transmitted through the heart. While transmitting the method, the Master doesn't say a word and yet the initiated one becomes enlightened, and then attains the Tao (the great wisdom).

That's why this is called the formless method. In order to reach the formless world, one has to practice the formless method, and one can't practice any methods related to the physical world. Do you understand the logic? If you practice a material method, you'll have material gains. If you practice a formless method, you'll reach the formless world. This is very simple, understand?

Master, in the Bible, it records the miracles performed by Jesus. One of them describes how Jesus changed water into wine. In another it describes how he fed several thousand people with five loaves of bread and two fish. Feeding people fish and wine violates the five precepts. So does this mean that Jesus didn't follow the five precepts?

@ No, Jesus was a vegetarian since he was born. He was born into a vegetarian family, just like the devout Yi Quan Tao followers or the devout Buddhists, so he was a vegetarian since infancy.

He was like, for example, this monk in front of you who has been a vegetarian since he was a child, or some of my disciples' children who have been vegetarians before they were born. So after he grew up, he started to spread the Truth.

You can't say that he ate meat because he had been a vegetarian in the womb. Some of our disciples were initiated before they became pregnant. Their children were vegetarians since before they were born. Jesus Christ was also born into such a pure family, so he was a vegetarian since infancy.

The fish and wine were made by Jesus through his magical power. He had great magical power; he was able to resurrect a dead person, remember? A person died and someone came to Jesus and begged Jesus to revive him.

Jesus said, “Rise up.” and the dead person arose and was resurrected. Jesus visited India for over 10 years and learned many kinds of magical power. Unfortunately, he showed too much of it. His Master had told him not to use his magical power, but he did so anyway. That was why his life was cut short. This is not a joking matter.

A great spiritual practitioner can't use magical power openly, understand? If you use magical power, you will incur very bad karma < (retribution). The only time a master can use it is for the benefit of his or her disciples, understand? But this power can't be revealed to anyone outside. Only the master and two or three of his or her disciples can know about it. This is the only situation allowed.

If the master uses it openly, he or she will have to pay it with his or her own life. I think Jesus Christ wanted to save the man's life and resurrected him, and that was why his life was cut short. My own Master's Master had the same story while he was alive.

He had a child, about 10 years old. Up until 10, this child had had great magical power because he had practiced it in his previous lives. He came back to be the child of my Master's Master. It's not that easy to become the child of an enlightened Master.

The child used his magical power every day while he played with his friends. Everything his friends wanted him to do, he would go “hu-la-hup,” and he would do it. They all thought it was great fun, so they played like this every day.

If he had used small magical power, it would have been okay, like changing rocks into gold or changing dirt into candy for his friends. These were okay, no problem; and his father closed his eyes and didn't say anything. But he had warned his son not to go overboard.

One day, a friend of his… Well, four of them made a date to go out and play. These four friends were always together, but then the fourth child didn't show up, so there were only three of them. Then the one with magical power got upset, so he went to the house of the fourth one to find out why his friend hadn't come out. When he went in, he found out that the fourth child had died.

It was raining that day, so he use the handle bar of his umbrella, the kind that looks like a hook, to hook the dead child's neck and said, “Hey! You can't die. You have to play with us before you die!” Yes! That's what he said since he had magical power. So the child came back to life and went out to play with them.

This was going overboard. When the child went home, his father said to him sternly, “If you don't leave now, then I'll have to leave.” Understand? It's because this is interfering with the universal law of karmic retribution. This child understood , so he laid down and covered himself with a piece of white cloth and then he died.

He left the world. It's like this. Therefore, if one doesn't have very great ability to exercise self-control, one would misuse his or her magical power. Moses lived before Jesus Christ came. When he just came down from Mount Sinai, he also used too much magical power, remember? He changed his cane into a snake.

The other party sneered at him and also created a snake. Then Moses begged for forgiveness from God, admitting he was being weak, and he was misusing his power. So he didn't create any bad karma (retribution). Then one day, while he was in the deser he used his magical power again. He used his cane and struck a rock and water came out of the rock.

At that time, he was overdoing it a bi and God reprimanded him. Right? Therefore, for Moses life wasn't that easy. He suffered from lots of problems and pains. Even though he used so much magical power and saved so many people, they eventually betrayed him, which caused the wrath of God. In the end God punished them all by making them wander for years without being able to have a country, and they had to suffer much pain. It was like this.

Master, after we die, will we remember everything from past lives? Will we recognize you? Will we remember to pay back your love?

@ Why pay me back? What else do I need so that I have to wait for you to pay me back? Yes, you do remember. Since I have come here, how can you not remember me? Even if you don't, you would recognize me. The Master will come and say, “Hey, time is up. Let's go!” Like this. Then the two leave hand in hand, accompanied by music and angels. When Buddha comes how can you not recognize?

Master, suppose one day all sentient beings are saved, and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva also returns to the highest realm, what will it be like then?

@ Then everywhere is Heaven. But you're dreaming. When Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva came, you didn't recognize him, and when Buddha came you also ignored him. So how can that day come? If you want that day to come, let's start from today.

Master, when we leave this body, we won't have ears, eyes, nose, or consciousness. Then what will we use to feel? Will we be using our consciousness?

@ No, we'll use our wisdom, the wisdom beyond this world. Consciousness belongs to the mind. We'll leave our mind in the second realm, just like leaving behind a machine. When we go home, we leave our car in the garage; we can't bring our car into our bedroom.

Our bedroom is for us to stay in; the car has to be left outside, understand? By that time, the car won't be able to feel the relationship or the happiness we feel with our husband, wife or children. It's the same with the mind. It won't be of any use by then.

Master, is the path you practice and the wisdom you have different from the wisdom of science? May I ask if Buddha knows how to do calculus or how to build spaceships?

@ What will Buddha be doing this for? Only in this mundane world do we need all this. They went to the moon and brought back some rocks, and they spent so much money. understand? Our Buddhas don't need to spend any money and they can go to a place full of treasure. Over there, the jewels are as plentiful as the rocks over here, which are useless.

Their speed is faster than the light of the sun. One can't calculate that speed with math. In one second, they're in the Pure Land. In our world, from here to the U.S., it takes the fastest plane over 10 hours. With the fastest astral projection, it takes a few seconds. But at the Buddha's level, in an instant one can reach the Pure Land and then come back here.

I forgot to tell you something really shocking. That's why we heard that a great spiritual practitioner, one who has attained the Tao (the great wisdom), for example, Shakyamuni Buddha or Quan Yin Bodhisattva, has billions of transformation bodies, and he is omnipresent, appearing in any place where people pray to him.

Suppose I can transform myself - suppose only - that I'm sitting here and my disciple in the U.S. encounters problems, and as soon as he thinks of me, I'd be there instantly. I'd be there even before he thinks of me. How can he travel so fast?

We cannot calculate this with mathematics. Or he (the Buddha) can be in France or anywhere else. He can be here and simultaneously in the Pure Land, in the U.S., in Germany or anywhere. Anywhere there are needs, he will be there. This is omnipresent. This is faster than the speed of light, and more powerful than a flying saucer. The speed of UFOs is even inferior to this.

Do you know any scientist more powerful than those who have attained the Tao (the great wisdom)? Do you know any? Do you know of any scientist who can invent things like this? Not yet. Even those extraterrestrial beings or their UFO are not as fast as the ones who've attained the Tao (the great wisdom).

Master, can a person have other spirits attached to his body aside from his own spirit? Master, have you attained Buddha's eyes? Are you able to know of some people's karma (retribution)? Wha is a psychic?

@: Yes, there are other spirits if we are not careful. In our home, we could have many “guests.” It's because we've invited them, or we didn't lock the door or we opened it up carelessly. When the door is open, petty thieves can come in and robbers can come in, and the neighbors can come in.

They don't know when to leave, and they keep staying there and struggle with us. Then they talk inside of us and make lots of weird noises to keep us from sleeping. But sometimes this happens because of our bad karma (retribution), or because we had relationships with them in the past. Even if Quan Yin Bodhisattva comes, the spirit will just prostrate and leave and then return tomorrow.

Sometimes they come because we invited them. We like to have maya or other spirits to talk nonsense to us, gossip with us, or tell us about things happening elsewhere. We like it this way, so we are reluctant to let them leave, therefore, these things happen a lot.

The second question is: Has Master attained Buddha's eyes, so you can check out people's karma (retribution)?

@ Yes, I can. This is so easy. I just thought you might not believe me because it's so easy to do. The third one?

Master, what's a psychic?

@ It's like this. Some people believe that they have this power to communicate with the souls of the deceased or to contact higher beings. This is called “psychic ability.”

Master, will an ordinary person who meditates run the risk of becoming possessed by other spirits? If it could happen, what should one do?

@ Yes, many people could encounter such a situation. Then they should come back quickly and practice the right method. They should hold correct concepts, keep their body, speech and thoughts pure, keep the five precepts, keep a vegetarian diet, do good deeds and not think about bad deeds or do bad deeds, not teach others to do bad deeds,

and not help others to carry out bad deeds. This is keeping the body, speech, and thoughts pure. One's concepts should be correct. Spiritual practice is for the purpose of liberation, for helping sentient beings and blessing the world, and not for gaining magical power or to be competitive with others, and then hurry and come for initiation.

Master, could you explain the spiritual realms?

The spiritual realms are the process of spiritual practice. There are too many to talk about. There are one or two hundred sub-levels in the first realm, so when can I finish listing them all? If you want to know, come and practice the Quan Yin Method with me and you'll know about them soon enough.

"Harming or killing animal co-inhabitants is like destroying our own protective power. Helping or saving animal co-inhabitants is like enforcing our safety fortress."

-Supreme Master Ching Hai

Master,if the husband is learning Buddhism and the wife becomes angry because of it, and affecting the harmony of the family, is there any way to make her not angry?

@ You hug her and give her love and then say to her, 『When you married me, you promised to follow me.』 A woman should understand the three obediences and four virtues and shouldn't get angry at what her husband does. She can get angry if he gambles, drinks, or has a second wife. But he is searching for Truth and he wants to do good things and be a good person, so she can't get angry.

If she's still angry, then hug her some more and give her more love, and then do it again. If she doesn't listen and remains mad, he should do it again. That makes it three times. This is the minimum. Not on the same day, though. It gets too boring. Then, if she still doesn't listen, what should he do? No,not like this. You're being cruel. What he said was just cut off the relationship. Oh my!

You're harsher than me. You'll have two choices: one is to have courage and become a monk; the second is to hug her one more time, and send her love and tell her, 『I love to follow the Tao, and if you're willing to come with me, that's the best. If you aren't willing, I'll still be the same. I'll still love you.』 Like this.

Master, why do I often dream of my house being on fire and I seem to be watching it outside? It seems like they are waiting for me to rescue them. What does this mean?

@ Do you dream of it often? Just let it be. Nothing you can do. It's your dream, so why ask me? I can't do anything about it. Forget about it. We have so many dreams.

When we practice the Quan Yin Method, we'll gain the ultimate wisdom,so don't be bothered by those insignificant dreams. Our world is a big dream and you don't take care of that. Why get bothered by a small fire? Our world is a big fire. Don't you know that? Greed, wrath, ignorance, joy, anger, sadness, and happiness burn our soul every day, and you aren't afraid. Instead, you're afraid of a fire in a dream.

Master,I dreamed I went to Paradise and saw Buddha. What does this mean?

@ Congratulations! If you dream of going there, that's wonderful. But it's all gone after you wake up. It's best to practice the Quan Yin Method so that every day you can see Paradise while being awake and not just in your dreams. That's because we don't know if the vision in the dream is real or not. If we see it with our wisdom while being awake, then it's real.

Master,I want to do spiritual practice, but I also want to eat meat. What should I do? And I'm so greedy that I even want to get initiated. What should I do?

@ You can get initiated and you can do spiritual practice, but you can't eat meat.

Master,if there wasn't any affinity before, how can we create affinity now?

@ Hurry up and get initiation.

Master, after one becomes a renunciate, can he still miss his parents, see his family, or talk to them?

@ Yes.

Master,what does 『forms are illusions』 mean?

@ This reflects a person's spiritual level.
When one reaches a high spiritual level, everything he sees is an illusion. However, forms come from nothingness and forms return to nothingness. After you start practicing, you'll understand it
.

Master,in order to avoid eating meat, I made up some excuses to avoid pressure from family. Does this count as lying?

@ It does, but these lies are relatively harmless. But even harmless ones are still lies. It's better not to tell them. You should find better excuses. Try to lend them my tapes or books in which I explain why we should be vegetarians so that they can think for themselves, and then they will wake up. In this way you won't even need to tell any harmless lies, and thus you'll feel more peaceful.

Master, what is the Quan Yin Method? What is this method that uses the ear to listen to the sound?

@ When we practice the Quan Yin Method, we can hear our inner vibration which we temporarily call 『the Sound.』 It's superior to the sounds of this world. //We listen to this Sound because the more we listen to it the more our wisdom opens up, and the freer we become. All our bad karma (retribution) is eliminated, and it protects us everywhere we go.

The more we practice the better we become, and eventually we'll become Buddha. We'll gain great wisdom and great power. We'll be able to help ourselves, our family and friends, and the entire world. All this comes from the Quan Yin Method.

Master, what does the Quan Yin Bodhisattva in the Surangama Sutra practice?

@ She practices the Quan Yin Method.

Master, there are so many temptations in the world, so how can we reach a stage where we view everything as an illusion?

@ Practice the Quan Yin Method.

Master, how come we feel that things occurring in our daily life have appeared in our dreams before? Why do we feel this way?

@ Things that happen in our daily lives have appeared in our dreams before. Or we first dreamed about them, and then they occurred. This happens because some of us have retained some magical power from our previous lives, understand? We are also able to predict certain things in the future.

Master, does the Quan Yin Method belong to Buddhism, or does it not belong to any religion?

@ It belongs to every religion.

Master, is the initiation the same as the Yi Quan Tao's principle?

@ No,not the same. The Yi Quan Tao teaches you to focus on an outside light, right? They light the light and teach you to focus on it, and then the light will lead you home.

Mine is different. I don't light a light. My Light doesn't need to be lit. I don't need to light the Light. The Light will shine on its own. I don't need to open your eye. Your eye will open on its own. When I transmit the Dharma (true teaching), I don't need an outside light, but the Light is brilliant. So all these are different.

Master, can our bad karma (retribution) be eliminated through repentance? If so, how do we repent?

@ It can't be. Repentance isn't enough. It's because our heart of repentance is limited while our bad karma (retribution) is too vast. We can only use unlimited power to cleanse the unlimited bad karma (retribution) accumulated life after life.

This supreme power is our own Buddha Nature, our own inner Heavenly Kingdom, or our own Tao, the great wisdom. Only when we open it up can we cleanse the bad karma (retribution) from life after life. Repentance can only cleanse a little bit of the coarse or visible bad karma (retribution). It can't do anything to the invisible bad karma (retribution) that we've recorded inside life after life.

Master, I've been following Yi Guan Dao, but I still can't control my emotions in my daily life very well. How can I improve myself? What should he do?

@  Practice the Quan Yin Method.

『Master, after one becomes enlightened and our mind is opened, what will it be like?』 He means after becoming enlightened, our mind will become open, so how open can it get?

@ To an unlimited degree.

Master,I saw the Sun Bodhisattva once, and then I saw Bhaisajyaguru and Tathagata Buddha. Why?

@ They came to visit and greet you. If they emit very bright light, then they are real. When you come out of that state and still feel happy and relaxed, then it is a real experience. If you don't have these feelings, then your experience is an illusion.

Master, you have gained more and more disciples, but the new hall you built has limited capacity. It might not be able to accommodate so many people. Will you consider expanding the hall?

@ I will. No matter how big it is, it's still not big enough. Even before we finish building,it's already full. Every time it's like this. It's all right. We only have problems in winter time. In summer, we sit outdoors like this. We find a tree and meditate under the tree. No problem.

Master, could Shakyamuni Buddha help the five generations of his disciples transcend to a higher realm? Does one have to have great compassion and great love to have such great power?

@ Yes,he could. That's why when Maudgalyayana, his disciple with the greatest magical power, went to hell for a visit, he found that all his relatives had already ascended. Only his mother, who had very heavy karma (retribution), was left behind. Otherwise,he would've found the five generations of his relatives there, but he didn't. All he found was his mother. This means all the others had transcended.

Master, in the Diamond Sutra, it says that all forms are like illusions, or dews or electricity, and they should be perceived as such. What does this mean?

@ When great spiritual practitioners go to a very high realm, they see this physical world as a dream or an illusion. That's why they can say this. We're here and we take the illusion as gold. That's why we don't understand this.

We take the dreams for real. You even keep the dreams you had in your mind for dozens of years and you ask this person and that person about them- right? - let alone such a grand dream. We're just too attached to it. That's what it means. A spiritual practitioner will be more and more bored with this world. The higher we get the more we look at this world as an illusion or a dream. That's what it means.

Master,in the Bible it records that God created the universe in seven days. This seems to contradict the idea of enlightenment in Buddhism. Master, please explain.

@ These scriptures talk about many things, of course we don't understand them. God didn't create Heaven and Earth in seven days, understand? Though it's said Hes did it in seven days, they are heavenly days, they aren't the same as our days. How could it be just seven days?

It's only an allegory. We only understand by our own mathand we count it as seven days, or one day,two days; but it's different. Many stories that Shakyamuni Buddha told,we don't understand them.

For example,he said that after a long time, the world would be destroyed and that there wouldn't be any humans anymore because most people would be going to the Heaven of Light and Sound. Then after a long time, this Heaven of Light and Sound would turn into dust and beings in this Heaven would come down to live.

Later they would become Brahma or become something else,etc.,etc. First they had light and freedom, and then they would degenerate, etc.,etc.,etc. But when they asked him what the Heaven of Light and Sound was like, he wouldn't answer. Understand?

There is too much to explain. How can we finish explaining it all? That's why sometimes the scriptures use these allegories to explain things to the more simple-minded so that they are satisfied. It's because people love answers and they keep asking questions.

Suppose it says it took seven days to create the world, then people would ask where the world came from, and then it became unanswerable. Then someone might ask whether the egg came first or the chicken came first. If the chicken came first, then where did it come from?

If the egg came first, then where did it come from? Then someone might say, 『Okay,I know. The egg came first. You have to believe it. If you don't, then you are a heretic.』 Okay, then we will all believe the same thing. It's like this. It's so troublesome.

I have the best answer, which is we all go up and catch this God and ask Hirm. It will be safer that way, right?

Master, aside from our Earth which has humans, are there other planets with other humans?

@ Yes,there are.

How do they survive? How are they different from humans on Earth?

@ Some are not very different and some are different. Some are of higher spiritual levels than us. Some have more advanced science than ours, millions of years more advanced than ours. Some are more backward than us. Some are taller than us, and some are smaller than us. Some are prettier than us, and some are uglier than us. If you want to know, practice the Quan Yin Method.

Master, you're so compassionate that you bear the bad karma (retribution) of sentient beings, but you often get attacked by invisible beings. You have the protection of heavenly guards, so why do you still get attacked

@ These are also guards. They are visible guards. The heavenly guards are the invisible ones. The invisible guards are here to protect me from being disturbed by the invisible beings.

Visible guards are here to protect me from being disturbed by the coarse sentient beings. Some sentient beings, their bad karma (retribution) is too heavy, too coarse, and their wisdom hasn't grown up yet,or they just came from hell or they were tigers in their previous lives. Even if they come to me, initiation might not be useful for them.

I can tell you a story about a previous life, but the time is up now. Another day I'll tell you about the Dharma guards. I can't tell it today.

You want to hear it now? (Yes.)

A long, long time ago, there was a spiritual practitioner who was very humble and had attained the Tao (the great wisdom). However,he didn't save many sentient beings because it was very, very difficult to save sentient beings at that time; he only had a few students. He taught his students every day, but he didn't live together with them.

One day, a very vicious person came and wanted to learn with him. Because this Master could tell this person had a very vicious personality, he didn't want to teach him originally. But a Buddha was compassionate and treated everyone equally so he could not reject him. He knew it would create problems if he taught him,but he could not reject him.

So he transmitted the method to him, but he told this disciple, 『If you don't purify yourself you'll create a lot of bad karma (retribution), and you will not be able to get liberated life after life. Although you learn with me,if you don't follow my instructions I'm afraid that you will create the heaviest karma (retribution) and you will not be able to get liberated,so I want to warn you now.』

That person said, 『No problem. After I go back home and practice for three months, I will report to you. I promise you that I will reach the level of Arhat.』 Okay, he went back home and practiced for three months.

I don't know what nonsense other people told him but he came back to question his Master, 『Is the method you taught me the real one? Is it the ultimate method? Are there other secret methods you didn't teach me? Is there someone whose level is higher than yours?』

His Master said,『No. This method is the ultimate method. What I taught you is the best method and the most precious method.』 But he didn't believe it and kept questioning his Master. He thought his Master had other secret methods which he didn't teach him,

or that there was someone whose level was higher than his Master, but his Master didn't want his disciples to go there to learn even though he knew it. So he kept questioning his Master. His Master told him, 『No,I really don't have other secret methods.』 Then he asked his Master, 『Where is your Master?

His level must be higher than yours. If you don't know other people, you must know where your Master is.』 At that time, this Master wanted to protect his Master, so he didn't want to tell him where his Master was. This disciple became very angry and he struck his Master with an arrow. He didn't aim at this place Instead,he aimed it here.

So his Master was injured a bit. He left his Master there and went to find other disciples to ask where his Grand Master was.

He found out where his Grand Master was and went there, but his Grand Master had left because he knew he was coming. He was not at his home and he had left a letter for this disciple. In the letter,he said, 『I know you are very vicious, but you don't need to run after me to try to kill me. I will go back to Heaven in three days.』

This person was scared to death because he realized that his Grand Master had great power. His Grand Master also told him,『Your Master has taught you the highest method. You should repent. Otherwise you will go to hell.』

Now this person was really scared, and he wondered,『How come my Grand Master knows what is on my mind and knows what I did?』 Only then did he kneel down and sincerely repent Then he went back to apologize to his Master and to take care of his Master. Because he felt so sorry for what he did,he cried. He told his Master, 『I want to be a Dharma guard for you life after life no matter where you are.

No matter where you go to teach the Truth, I will be a Dharma guard for you. I will strike those unworthy people, those vicious people with my arrow and won't let them come to your place to disturb you, to harm you.』 Understand?

His Master said,『No, you don't need to do that. Okay,as long as you have good intention, then that's fine. Just practice diligently.』 However, because his will was very strong when he made the vow, his vow came true.

He really became a very scary Dharma guard, protecting his Master life after life. So he is that vicious Dharma guard, and he kept a sack full of arrows and stood outside.

When people came to his Master's place, they were very scared. When those vicious people came to his Master's place and saw he had those bows and arrows on the ready, they were scared to death, so they slipped away. They would not come in or ask for the Dharma (true teaching). In this way, his Master could avoid those insincere people since they would leave.

After screening out some people, those who came to his Master's place would not be so vicious. Even though they were afraid of bows and arrows, but because they had their conscience and they knew that they didn't have any bad intentions, they were not afraid.

Moreover, because they truly wanted to get liberated they were not afraid of any tests, and they still came in. Those people were very sincere and they didn't believe any of the outside vilifications against the Master, so they would come in.

Okay. That person did this job life after life. This person is living in Formosa (Taiwan) right now, but now he cannot use bows and arrows, so he uses a pen. He uses his pen,his brush, a pen like an arrow, and he strikes and strikes.

Anyone who is afraid of him would not come to get initiation with me. Anyone who believes in his power would not come to learn with me. If they believe what he wrote and are afraid of what he wrote, they would not come. Understand? He is a Dharma guard. He is the one who writes articles to attack me. I was his Master before.

Dear Master, you said that after initiation, five generations will transcend to a higher realm. Do you mean the past five Generations or the future five generations? Also, are they the five generations of the husband's relatives or the wife's relatives?

@ Five generations of your own relatives who have passed away. And of course, for those relatives and friends who are alive, they all get benefits. When they die, they all have Master Power to take care of them. Not only five generations, many generations.

Perhaps 100 generations can be included, but since you don't recognize them, we don't count them. You think they're others' relatives. Understand? You can still recognize five generations, but you won't recognize the sixth generation. You don't know what they look like. Only I can recognize them. It has been too long. Understand?

Master,in my husband's family, I cannot offer worship to my ancestors' memorial tablets because my husband believes that if a family worships the wife's ancestors' memorial tablets, it will cause bad luck to the family.

But when I see the tablets of my relatives thrown in the storage room and covered up, I feel like crying every time I pass by there. What should I do? How can I be filial to both families?

@ I think you can just practice the Quan Yin Method. We worship God inside us. No one can throw it away, no one can destroy it. Then we won't feel that bad. There are a lot of gods inside us, we don't even need to buy any. The gods inside are billions and trillions times more beautiful than those outside gods, right?

Dear Master, I am an ordinary person who hasn't received initiation. Although I got to know you half a year ago, I missed a good chance to learn with you.

Last Sunday,I participated in a gathering to recite Buddha's name. Toward the end of the chanting, suddenly my whole body was shaking a lot, and the sound of Buddha's chanting around me became three, four times louder. I visited one of my friends in the afternoon, and I began to realize that you are a saint who looks ordinary.

After listening to your lectures for four days, I also realized that I had many questions. First, when I close or open my eyes while I am concentrating, I can see some Light. Is it similar to the Quan Yin Method?

@ What was his question?

He said that when he closes or opens his eyes, he can see some light. What's the difference between this and the Quan Yin Method? Are they similar things? Also, after his initiation, can he absorb the energy of the sun and the universe?

@ Amitabha Buddha. You can. But our purpose shouldn't be absorbing the energy of the universe. We should develop our almighty energy inside and use it to save people. And regarding his seeing the light, it is not the same as the Quan Yin Method. I talked about it yesterday. People who practice other methods can also see the Light and hear the Sound, but these may not be high level Lights or Sounds.

When the enlightened beings die, do they leave through the brow chakra or the crown chakra? Is the brow chakra here? Or can we go out through the crown chakra?

@ We can go out from any chakra.

Dear Master, when one is sleeping, one is not conscious. Where does one's soul go?

@ During sleep, the soul often goes to the belly. There he'll see many visions,Heaven, hell, and many sceneries in the astral world, such as people, machines, sceneries, ships, airplanes, cars and so on. It's similar to our planet, just a little bit more beautiful. The soul of a practitioner will go here or there, or go out from here. That's the high-level realm.

Dear Master, once when I was concentrating to recite Amitabha Buddha in my meditation, I felt that my body was like a balloon, filled with air and then later I saw a big fireball in the front. Was it correct or not?

@ Sometimes, we have illusions. I just said that if you feel relaxed after you come out and wake up from meditation, then it's okay. But don't be attached to it. It's not a big deal. Just some small vision. Most of them are illusions. Be careful.
