Don't Throw That Chip Bag Away! Give It Back to Frito-Lay, to Make into Handbag |
|
| In recycling news, two American firms launch an eco-friendly packaging plan. Snack company Frito-Lay will be opening 1,000 collection sites in the United States for consumers to deposit used bags of their products. Upcycling firm TerraCycle will then transform them into an array of useable products such as purses, handbags and pencil cases. In addition, Frito-Lay is donating two cents to charity for every bag left to be transformed. The program has the potential to divert more than five million bags from landfills by the end of this year. Kudos, Frito-Lay and Terracycle, on your green partnership. May many more organizations work together for the greater good of our one and only planet Earth. |
