Prime Minister Salam Fayyad has outlined a structure leading to the creation of a Palestinian state within two years.
Programs include development of a more self-sufficient economy, technological advancements and consolidation of the legal system.
The prime minister affirmed the need for all Palestinians, Fatah and Hamas alike, to support such a plan, saying that such steadfast unity and determination would be beneficial for the goal of statehood.
Meanwhile on Monday, Fatah official Hussam Khader proposed a three-month truce with the Palestinian Hamas group, including a halt of all arrests and mutual efforts to release political prisoners along with other trust-building measures.
Our respectful appreciation, Your Excellencies, for these initiatives of peaceful unity and independence. With Allah’s grace, may your endeavors be fruitful in fostering harmony for all within Palestine, Israel and across the Middle East.
